Installation

VEIL 01 is a self-fit kit with an electrical connection. Read this before you begin.

What you receive

  • 4 × switchable film panels, 19.68" × 39.37" each
  • Power wiring
  • Toggle switch
  • Fuse tap

Installation requirements

  • A 12V DC supply in the vehicle
  • Clean, dry working conditions — dust is the most common cause of a poor finish
  • Basic film tools: squeegee, sharp blade, spray bottle
  • Accurate measurements of each window taken before any trimming

Installation process

  1. Measure. Compare each window against the 19.68" × 39.37" panel size. Trim inward from the outside edge — material cannot be added back.
  2. Clean. The inside face of the glass must be free of grease, dust and lint.
  3. Apply. Fit the panel to the inside face of the glass and work trapped air outward from the centre.
  4. Connect. Route the wiring to the switch and connect to a 12V supply using the supplied fuse tap.
  5. Test. Switch between states and confirm every panel responds before refitting any trim.

Professional installation

This product combines film application with a 12V electrical connection. Both are straightforward for someone experienced with either, and awkward for someone experienced with neither.

We recommend professional installation if any of these apply: you have not applied window film before, you are not comfortable identifying circuits in a vehicle fuse box, or your vehicle has door glass that is difficult to access. Any competent auto-electrician or window tint installer can carry out this work.

Do not attempt wiring you are unsure of. If in doubt, stop and have the electrical connection made by a professional.

Before you start

VEIL 01 is intended for side and rear glass. It is not for windscreens.

Tint limits differ by country, state and province, and front side windows are the most commonly restricted. At 1% and 6% light transmittance this film will be darker than the front-side limit in many jurisdictions in either state. Confirm what is permitted where you drive before fitting it to front glass — fitting it to rear glass only is the more common approach where front limits are strict. Confirming compliance is your responsibility.
